Childhood Friends

After almost 7 years, I finally got together with Ashley. Ash and I have been friends since we were 7 years old. We grew up together and always had similar paths all the way through college. We haven't seen each other since I went on my mission but have always been in touch 2 or 3 times a year.

Dan and I met her at City Creek to have dinner at Blue Lemon. It was so fun to just sit and talk. She is just as funny as ever and its like we see each other all the time! I am so glad for life long friends!

For Good

We got to go see WICKED!! I have seen it 4 times now and I absolutely love it every time! It was fun to go with the family and so fun to go to it with Dan. I think this is by far my favorite touring cast ever! The leads were amazing and so fun to watch! I love the songs and the message of the show. It reminds me of different things every time and touches me differently too!

Lunch Date

Mir came to Utah for a few weeks and even though she cancelled our plans about 3 times, we finally got together on her last day here! We met for lunch at Zuppas and had so much fun. We had so much fun. Laughing at each other stories, happy to be reunited and had so much fun!

Obviously I was very excited to see her!!

Absolutely love these girls!

Pioneer Day

I love all the holidays in July. They are friend/family oriented. They are all about spending time with people and not about things. This year we hung out with the Davis County friends. We went down to Foxborrow and got out the Hashes arsenal of fireworks. We had an early show. After, the Rice's ward got together. Someone in their ward owns one of the firework stands and they came with a whole truck load of fireworks. It was quite the show. There were so many fireworks. It was very fun, and even a little scary. At one point, one of the fireworks got knocked over and shot right into the crowd. It was pretty scary seeing it shoot right at us. But everyone was ok and we got back to the show after a break. It was a great night!

Emily Naomi

I have the most beautiful new niece ever! She came just a week after our wedding. Her mom told us all that she was done 5 years ago. I always knew (and said to my sister) that there was one more baby waiting!! She is perfect! Her name is Emily Naomi. Naomi after my grandma, who passed away almost 2 years ago.

Mueller Park Hike

Dan and I wanted to explore Davis County a little more so we decided to try and go on Saturday hikes when our schedule allows. We went up Mueller Park canyon. We had beautiful views of Bountiful and had a great time being outside! I love our beautiful state!

Tahoe - Day 5

On our last day of the honeymoon we had to leave pretty early, but we wanted to squeeze in just a little bit more fun before we drove off. We woke up early to go paddle boarding. We decided to rent one paddle board and share using it. Dan went first, and of course was a natural. I jumped on and the lady helping us was impressed by both of us and our balancing skills!

We decided to try going on the paddle board together. We did just fine when I sat or knelt down. The second I tried to stand up we would both fall off. I face planted lots of times, but we were laughing the whole time. I'm sure we were entertaining everyone around us!

We decided to start a new tradition of buying cards from all the different places we go as our souvenir!

We stopped in Carson City for some Thai on our way to the airport. The curry was delicious!!

We were very sad to end our two weeks of celebrating and vacationing. It was so much fun to just relax!

Tahoe - Day 4

Sunday we got up early to hit up sacrament meeting. I paid very close attention to everything that was going on. :) As we were leaving the church we ran into President & Sister Davis.

We had head about a cute "old" town called Placerville. We drove for about an hour to get there and The main street is very quaint and has old signs over all the stores. Everything in the city was closed by 6:00. We walked up and down just enjoying the beautiful weather and looking in the windows of all the little stores.

Placerville used to be called Hangstown because it was a popular place to hang all the criminals. We were reading all about it at the building pictured below, but failed to notice the dummy hanging right above our heads. This is supposedly where the tree was that they hung everyone on.

The drive back was so beautiful and we talked about how lucky we are. We were so blessed to have such a fabulous trip and to have so much fun! We are so happy to be where we are in life right now!

Tahoe - Day 3

On Saturday we wanted a good breakfast before we went on our hike. We decided to stop somewhere on our way. I saw Heidi's full parking lot and knew that we had to eat there. It was such a cute little Swiss restaurant. The plates reminded me of my grandma's house. The food was delicious and filled us up!

We drove back to Emerald Bay to do some hiking. We both love being outside so we were ready to go.

Sadly, our "hike" consisted of a paved road 90% of the way, so we ran down half of it to get our heart rate up. I love how you can see the different shades of blue when you are on the shore!!

In Emerald Bay there is an old house called Vikingsholm. It was built in 1929 by a wealthy English woman who wanted a Scandinavian style house, thatched roof and all! It had beautiful detail on it and some really cool architecture.

We continued on our hike to Lower Eagle Falls. Lots of tourists were at both of these, and luckily we could find someone to take our picture! Dan wanted to scale the rocks straight up the mountain to get back to our car. I had to put my foot down and tell him I didn't want either of us to die in our first week of marriage!

That afternoon we we went parasailing. We decided to go 800 ft out from the boat. This was the first time either of us had gone and we were pretty scared! ;)

We had a great crew taking us out on the boat and a family of 4 with us. We sent their teenage boys first, just to make sure the crew knew what they were doing! We got to go second. I forget how much I love being on a boat! It is so much fun to have the wind blowing in your face and cruising on the water!

In our life jackets.....just in case

Getting ready for take off

Starting our accent

It was really noisy when were were starting to go up. But once we were a few hundred feet up, it was so quiet and calm. We looked down, briefly discussed our possible death by falling, but went quickly back to enjoying our ride. You could see so far away. I wish I had a camera with me to take pictures of what we saw, but I know it wouldn't do it any justice!

That night we decided to go out to sushi. Our first date was to sushi and we though it was very appropriate. The restaurant was called "Off the Hook" and they had the cutest signs. Our sushi was delicious and we had a good time eating it. Dan was even a trooper and finished all of the spicy roll!

He LOVES sushi!
