I was selected to represent the KKG DH Advisory Board at this year's Eta Province Meeting. Since KKG is a national organization, the have annual meetings to help all the chapters stay connected with what is current policy and get good ideas from other collegiate women and alumnae. Province Meeting is held for 8 chapters. This year it was held in Boulder, Colorado. Luckily, there were several advisers and alumnae from SLC. We had a lot of fun.
A few of us flew into Boulder on Friday afternoon. That evening we went to the hosting chapter, Beta Mu's , chapter house and meet all the collegiate women and alumnae who came to Province. The Beta Mu house was big and beautiful. The chapters all presented on topics that they succeed in. The alumnae went downstairs and talked about how to incorporate the recent graduates into the alumnae association.
The next day were filled with various break out sessions about different topics for collegiates, advisers, or alumnae. It was good to talk to other people who are serving in the same capacity I am. I also did a little shopping at the boutique. I couldn't resist the cute little owl onsie they had!
Saturday night was the Candle Light Banquet. This is where the province directors gave awards to the chapters and alumnae associations. The Delta Eta advisory board got an honorable mention.
Me and Anna Ratliff - the officer I advise
This is Joanie Cohen. She is the one of most amazing women I have ever met. She came to SLC in December to do a training with the officers and advisory board. She is so kind and makes every person she is talking to feel like they are the most important person in the world. I want to be her when I grow up!
So fun to be there with a pledge sister! Jess is the new SLC Alumnae Association president! I love this girl.
We had a total of 29 collegiate women, advisers, and alumnae from SLC.
We were supposed to fly out on Sunday, but unfortunately there was a huge snow storm. I ended up being stuck in Denver with 9 of the actives and 3 other advisers. It was quite the ordeal trying to get flights scheduled for all of us and finding a hotel that was reasonably priced. Luckily, I was with some of the absolute BEST women in the world. It was amazing to see how everyone stepped up to help each other. Once we got everyone checked into a hotel and fed, the evening went much calmer. The Denver 13 survived and made it back to Salt Lake! It was such an adventure, but we made some awesome memories!
