Sundance with the Thorntons

This weekend we went up to Sundance with my family. For Christmas, my dad gave everyone a weekend at a cabin in Sundance. My parents, the Tho Thorntons, the Mathises, and the Weeses all came up. Dan and I started off the weekend by going to Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me at Abravanel Hall. Wait, Wait is one of my favorite shows on NPR and luckily Dan likes it too. I bought the tickets the day they went on sale and was so excited to go. We went to dinner at the Country Club before and then went to the show. It was so fun to see all the personalities and panelists in real life. The show included the host Peter Sagal and Carl Kasell, and the panelists were Kyrie O'Connor, Peter Grosz, and Mo Rocca. Mo was by far my favorite. They were so funny and it was just a fun experience.

After Dan finished class on Friday we headed up to Solider Hollow for tubing with everyone. It was so much fun. Even there was hardly any snow, we all had a great time. They had a big tow rope pulling everyone up to the top of the hill, and 6 seldding tracks to take down. Once we could go in groups, pairing up with the adults was great. We would pull eachother around and go as fast as possible. The little kids loved going fast, and we had so much fun together.

Saturday morning we went up to the resort with mom and Casey. It was the first time I've really been boarding this year. Everyone else is so much better than me, and they were patient and waited for me a lot. Casey and Dan hit up some black diamonds and had a lot of fun together. It was so pretty at the top of the mountian. You could see miles in either direction. I took a few good falls but had a great day. It was fun to go up with mom and Casey. We ended at lunch and got to see everyone who was learning to snowboard on the tow rope.

While people went back up skiing, Dan and I went with Becca, Cindy and the younger kids at a rink in Midway.  They had big orange cones for the kids to use to help them keep their balance. Some of the kids picked it right up, and others took a bit of time to warm up to the ice. Sarah and Abbey both LOVED skating with Dan. The little girls just loved him. Abbey would give me dirty looks everytime I hugged Dan. By the end of the ice skating she said "I think Kristy is going to marry Dan."

It was so much fun to sepnd time with my family and let them spend more time with Dan. This was a fabulous weekend, because my family was all able to see what an amazing and good person Dan is, and they all fell in love with him, and loved seeing how he treated me.
